Meet Mrs. Salisbury
Hi Everyone! I am the Kindergarten Music & Movement, Art, and Physical Education Teacher at Luce Road. This is my fourth year at Luce Road and I am looking forward to a fantastic year with my new students!
My husband and I live in Mount Pleasant with our fuzzy cat, Sparrow. I love living in Michigan, but I have only been here for a few years. I grew up in Rhode Island and have taught elementary music in the past in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I received my bachelor's degree in music education at the University of New Hampshire and my master's at Boston University. My love of music extends into my personal life where I often sing, play the flute, practice guitar and piano, and am now learning to play the bass. I have been painting, drawing, modeling clay, and sewing for many years and I consider myself a very creative person. I have also had a big interest in sports throughout my life. I played soccer for many of my younger years. In elementary and middle school, I was part of a competing jump roping team and I have continued to teach others about jump roping in several after school programs. Last year, I learned about the endless possibilities of connections and reinforcing lessons that this position allows. This year, I look forward to refining my lessons and working to give your students an education that nurtures their creativity and helps them to understand their world through exploration and experiential learning. |
